Gender & Fragrance
“Today's perfume reflects culture's shifting attitudes and acceptance of non-binary sex and gender. This is a big shift from the historically mainstream "male" and "female" centric scents that were a way of targeting sales and limiting gender and sexual identities. No longer are floral scents reserved or limited to women, nor should they be. Our Cedarwood Myrrh and Clove Solid Perfume is smokey and resin rich, notes typically sold to men. I am a queer female identified cis-woman who loves to smell like a campfire and deep resin. I am a Midwife and deliver babies and have lived in a wood burning cabin. I like to chop wood with my nails painted, a symbol of being both rugged and tender. I like to butch out in a dress. Our solid perfume line is composed of unisex scents that embrace the fluidity of gender and sexual presentation, as we are all human and embody both male and female energies and all the energies in between. Awoke and open sexuality and fluid gender is full of nuances and not a binary existence. One's scent is a way of expanding their connection to what they want to highlight in themselves.” -- Christian Toscano, Founder
