Notes From Kauai!

This is a star fruit tree in Kauai which I eat from everyday. Local abundance is everywhere on this lush island, but this is a mentality too. As a wildcrafter I constantly comb every Eco system I am in for local, free abundance. Wherever I go I keep my eyes peeled for medicinal plants, abundant fruit and excess veggies. A lot of the plants in my garden were “volunteers” meaning they showed up and I kept watering them. Every fellow wildcrafter knows there is so much abundance all around, it is just a matter of correct identification and having the right tools on hand and a bag. If this star fruit lived in my yard back home it would mean; jellies, fruit leather, baked goods, infused mead and I am sure after enough time some botched batch of fruit alcohol.
