Refinery 21 Says Our Scrub is Yummy

Honey-Pecan-Rose-Face-Cleanser

Christian Toscano, Roots Rose Radish

Christian Toscano practices Western Clinical Herbalism and owns Roots Rose Radish, an artisanal company that creates sustainable, nutrient-packed health and beauty care products made without alcohol or water. Why? “Water dilutes nutrients and medicinal benefits,” Toscano says. “I believe very strongly in the integrity of these products and don’t agree with charging people to pay for a watered-down product.” As for alcohol, “it leaches the good oils from the skin and leaves the skin feeling tight and un-nourished.”

Though she’s based in sunny Los Angeles, Toscano has got her snow-bunny clients covered. For winter, she recommends stocking up on the Honey Pecan Rose Face Cleanser — which sounds good enough to eat, and actually is. “But I’d much prefer that you use it daily or leave it on as an ultra moisturizing mask,” Toscano says.

She adds that the yummy scrub is “a great winter exfoliant because it’s in a base of honey, which keeps cells moisturized, while the finely ground pecans gently exfoliate dead skin cells. This paired with our Blue Chamomile Face Cream is a great winter regiment.”

Roots Rose Radish Honey Pecan Rose Face Cleanser, $30, available at Asrai Garden.
